Want to Blog but I'm Pooped...

I have been off the last 5 days and they have been a whirlwind of baby! Armed with my tape measure, notebook of lists and sketches, and my secret weapon & savior...my mom I have been out every day trying get the nursery together.  I've come to find out that putting together a room for such a tiny person takes a lot and, and by a lot I mean...$$

It has been stressful, exhausting, and fun but I am finding myself in bed before 8pm wishing I had one more day to recoup!

So for now, a pic of what I look like 10 weeks away from my due date....yikes, it's coming so soon!

As Promised

Now that the holidays are over I am going to attempt to get back to blogging.  Between a busy holiday season & a sinus infection that got me as soon as they ended, Chase & I have just gotten the Christmas decor back in it's pretty red and green bins.  Fighting the congestion & waddling my big self around made it pretty fun this year, but I am relieved my house is finally somewhat back to normal.

Here is a short recap of some holiday fun:

Bailey in a bag!
This was after taking our enormous tree out of that huge bag.

One of the best things about the holidays...
SAUSAGE BALLS!

Mmmm

The girls are ready for company!
Ready to host our first Christmas Eve :)

Dessert Buffet

More food

And more...

It was pretty amazing

We crammed 27 people into our home

The more the merrier!
The only picture I took of people with my lovely cell camera
Chase & Our "Nanny" Grace ;)
Christmas Eve was incredibly hectic, but oh so worth it.  Chase & I are so blessed to have this beautiful home to share the holidays with our family.  We hope that they had as great a time as we did.  Next year I don't think we'll be as brave with a little one crawling around, so I'm so glad we got the chance to test the waters this year.

This year for Christmas the hubs got me the prettiest gift ever...this little beauty:
The Sony Nex5

Is that not the prettiest camera you've ever seen??  I have been wanting a new camera for quite some time now, and with little pepper making his/her appearance this coming year I was really hinting at getting one for Christmas.  Chase & I went to a couple stores and finally found someone who was incredibly helpful.  We were told that this was going to be our love and so far they are correct.  We have taken tons of pictures & in true post holiday fashion...have looked at none of them :)  Don't you worry, beautiful pictures are to come!

As you may have seen from my last pic post, I've gotten a bit....bumpier than before ;)  This baby has been growing like crazy & he or she moves around all the time.  We definitely have a little Chase on our hands, wild child already!  Chase has been able to feel the baby move around a lot more, he was even able to feel where the baby is usually laying in my stomach.  I've been telling him for weeks that I can feel the baby through my stomach & he finally was able to feel him/her too!  Of course he just tells me as I rub my stomach..."you're going to make the kid come out all lumpy!"  Well, let's hope that's not true ;)

Before I leave you, here's a long overdue survey:

Size of baby: Chinese Cabbage...whatever that is?  Baby Pepper is 2.25lbs & 14.8" long!  If baby was born today he/she would have a pretty good chance of survival.  However, Chase & I would like for the little one to cook a bit longer.
Total Weight Gain: My scale is broken (let the jokes begin) so I haven't been able to track my weight as I'd like, but the last time I went to the doc's I had gained a scary 16lbs
Gender: Chase stills thinks boy.  I've had lots of people telling me they're feeling a girl.  I have had several dreams of our future love & it has always been a girl, but that could be persuaded by the fact that I'd like a mini me to dress up in pretty bows & dresses ;)
What I miss: Missed champagne during the holidays.  Miss my pre-prego clothes.  Miss being able to walk without panting & feeling the ache in my feet and back.  I really miss not having restless legs all the time....(sigh) Just 80 more days...
Cravings: Lately, cuties oranges are my love.  I have also had this very strange obsession with mint gum.  When I brush my teeth, I want gum...When I use my astringent on my face, I want gum...When I wash my hair with my mint shampoo...I really want gum!!  It's pretty ridiculous.
Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain like mad, restless/crampy legs, outgrowing my new Z-size bras, & still with the teenage acne (despite my best & most expensive efforts to control it)
What I'm reading: Reading the 'After baby is born' part of What to Expect, especially trying to get a grip on this breastfeeding thing to make sure I'm a pro.  Let's hope baby pepper is studying up as well so we can own at it.
Best Moment this week: I've missed so many weeks & have had so many amazing moments, but a few would be...
Chase being able to really feel the baby move more.  The baby reacting to daddy Chase yelling at the football game.  Going to the Texans game & feeling the baby squirm picturing him/her cheering on our team.  Having so much family & loved ones around us for the holidays.

During the holidays we felt truly blessed...but now we're feeling pretty stressed!  We are now in preparation baby mode.  I will do my absolute best to keep you up to date & get back to my weekly posts!

MIA No Longer

So sorry for my hiatus!  I have been busy lately it seems with work, family, & (my favorite) planning for the holidays time has gotten away from me.  I know I've missed quite a few surveys, but now there will be so many changes for you to read about!

First thing's first....Adorable baby pictures!!
The cutest profile you've ever seen

foot

thumb/spine

legs & stomach

more baby feet
Now wasn't that worth waiting for??  I may be a tad partial but I'm pretty sure that I have the most adorable baby profile in my belly.  Instead of me just telling you about all the changes, I'll let the survey do the talking.

Size of baby:  Size of a spaghetti squash; aka-11 inches & 1 whopping lb!
Total Weight Gain: For baby...1lb, but if you mean me you can add a 0 on the end of that.  Some days I can really feel that extra 10, others I don't know how it could really be that much.  All I do know is, is that it is never appropriate to tell someone, especially a preggo, that they are "big".  I mean who does that?!  Do you ever walk up to a normal person and say, "my you are looking big today"...No!  So just because I'm carrying around a little one in my uterus and yes my belly will be getting bigger that does not make it okay to call me big.  So unless I'm imitating the rapper, please do not tell me "I'm so big".  K? Thanks!
Gender: Still a mystery.  Chase & I went to the doctor for our anatomy & gender ultrasound.  Sans the gender portion of course.  It was definitely very, very hard for us to not peek or ask the lady to tell us what our little pepper is.  We made it through that appointment though & all is looking well!
What I miss: White wine for some reason lately.  That's about it though.
Cravings: Still just having sudden urges for carbs, salty foods, or sour treats.  My biggest & newest crave is the need to put ranch on anything & everything.  A salad with cucumbers, spinach, carrots & ranch is like heaven.  Hot chocolate has made an appearance with some of the cool nights we've been having, that & tomato basil soup...Mmmm
I'm thinking that blogging at dinner time was not my best decision.Symptoms: Is having the worst skin EVER a symptom...because it's in full affect.  Other than that I can finally say that the nausea hasn't reared it's ugly head, hallelujah!  Other than some teenage acne and a small bit of reflux some nights, I am doing pretty darn good :)
What I'm reading: I have taken a break from reading lately & spent most of my time trying to be Santa & his elves.  I have also been researching baby gear so that we can get our registry in order.
Best Moment this week:
The best moment of the past few weeks is that I can feel this little miracle moving around in my belly all the time now.  I think we've got each other's schedules down.  Little Pepper likes to wait for me to sit or lay down to go all bouncy house on my bladder.  Lots of times at work I'll be in the middle of doing something important and it gives me a big knock.  I like to think it's saying, "um, hello mom" then waiting for me to look down & saying "hi :)".  Gotta love it!

I will truly be coming back after Thanksgiving with an update & lots of holiday pictures!  My little sis & I will be attempting to make some holiday favorites on our own this year, so pics & reviews to come!

18 Weeks

Well week 18 has also come & gone so quickly!  I scheduled myself to work the beginning of last week & the end of this coming week which has given me eight whole days off...it has been amazing so far and I'm only half way through it!!  I really needed a break from the hospital, it has been quite the stressor for me lately.

During my days off I have: loved the cooler weather, gone on a baby shopping trip with my mom & sister only to be bombarded by the not so nicest sales people & almost have a melt down in the store, I've then had the best hot chocolate ever with my mom and sis & did a couple woosahs & remembered that this is exciting more than overwhelming (right?), Chase & I had a blast at our co-worker's halloween party, & last night had a great evening with some friends we haven't seen in awhile!

Today is filled with pajamas, yummy brunch foods, internet time, & of course...
Texans Football! :)

Now on to the goods...

Size of baby: Bell Pepper, 51/2 inches long & almost 7oz.
Total Weight Gain: Just a couple pounds since 2 weeks ago when I looked, but man that number is getting high...
Gender: I'll tell you what I've been telling others...It's going to be a boy because I want a girl & Husband wants a boy, and well, Husband always gets what he wants.  Spoiled boy.  I've accepted it & moved on.
What I miss: Still missing my old clothes...So much that I've still be wearing some of my jeans & just leaving them unbuttoned & using the B band, but you can totally see that the aren't closed.  I just pretend like no one else can see that...they can't right, right??
Cravings: Oh carbs you haunt me!  I have been trying desperately to squeeze in as much fruit & veggies in there as possible.  I am also still loving my chicken & spinach salads with catalina dressing.  I'm pretty sure that I'd like to meet the person who came up with catalina dressing and kiss them on the forehead.  I honestly have no idea if it's healthy or not, but it's like heavy in my mouth.  Sour candy has also been a predator of mine.  A perk of eating it as my after dinner movie treat is that laying there after eating a few baby starts treating my uterus like a bouncy house!  I just picture the peanut in there bouncing all over the place saying "Weeeeee" :)
Symptoms: Nausea hasn't reared it's ugly head, which makes me smile the biggest smile.  But it seems it might have been replaced by night time acid reflux.  Which makes me say, Um..yay.  Last night was the first night it was pretty intense.  I feel sorry for all those GERD babies I take care of because that reflux does a number on your throat!  Feeling pretty good these days, but then again these days are days spent doing fun things with my fam, friends, & husband so how can you complain??  When work comes again at the end of the week I'm hoping to continue to have this positive outlook ;)
What I'm reading: Still trucking through Babywise.  Not my favorite read.
Best Moment this week: Just being off in general has been so amazing & needed.  But if I had to pick it would be enjoying the cool weather on a cloudy day in Rice Village with my mom and sister having yummy soup & salad at La Madeline & then later enjoying some Hot Chocolate outside of Starbucks.  Why can't every day be like that {{sigh}}

I didn't take a belly pic this week but here is a picture of Chase & me before we headed to a Halloween party.
