I'm right up against Alyssa's 5 month birthday & I am finally getting around to posting her 3 & 4 month pics. I know, I know...bad mommy! But before you get too upset check out this totally adorable face>>
Can you be upset while looking at that face?...I think not! Trust me, it's not possible. Baby girl daily puts a smile on my face. Rain or shine, busy or tired (more like-busy & tired) happy or sad my little princess lights up my face giving me the biggest smile wrinkles & the squintiest eyes ever. Yep, that's right-squintiest...spell check just had a cow over that word. Anyway, that was Alyssa at 3 months. We had a pool day, the first of many. She now has her own little covered play area for when mommy & daddy want a little sunshine.
Unfortunately I missed her 3 month mark to continue my monthly memory post, so we'll just have to move on to month 4. So here are her 4 month glamour shots by her personal photographer (that'd be me) along with her memory current memory post.

Dear sweet Alyssa Kate,
You continue to greet me each day with the biggest smile making me feel like I'm the most important person in the world. You flash your gummy smiles at just about everyone, but you are definitely becoming more aware of who's who. You are extremely curious. You study new things, new faces, & new places. Whenever you wake up from a nap and you're in a new place you seem to be relieved when you see a familiar face. You love when mommy & daddy sing to you. Your absolute favorite song is "I'm a Little Teapot". Mommy & Daddy sing to you duo style, mommy takes the top and daddy takes the bottom; our current fav is "Big Girls Don't Cry". You adore your dada. Daddy doesn't think that you miss him when he's gone, but I can see your face when you hear him come into the room. You hear his voice & stop whatever you're doing to look for him. You guys have your own little jokes, and he gets the best giggles from you. He has single handedly provoked the loudest, highest decibel squeals from you. You hold a special place for your Aunt Shannon. You two are besties. She says you're "her girl" & I can tell by your silly smiles when you see her that you associate her with f.u.n. You are sleeping well now that we've started letting you fall asleep on your own. You don't love being left alone, but you're being a big girl and learning how to soothe yourself to sleep. I'm pretty sure it's harder on mommy to not rock you than it is on you. If crib gymnastics was an olympic sport you would steal the gold. We have stopped swaddling your arms for the last month because you are all over the place once asleep. You are so strong; you can hold your head up so well. During tummy time you push yourself up as if you're going to crawl, but you still can't quite coordinate with your upper body. The first time mommy & daddy witnessed this we contemplated pushing you down because we're not ready for you to grow up (no worries...we didn't). You are still taking one nap a day in my arms when I'm not working. People have advised against it, but you are only this small once & I'm soaking up every moment of it. I like to think that those naps are your favorite part of the day. You curl up against me and scratch at my chest while you drift off to sleep. About 30 minutes into your nap you pop your eyes open suddenly as if you're worried I'm gone, but as soon as you see me still there you close your eyes back and continue to rest. People tell us all the time how lucky we are to have such a good baby, but I still can't believe how lucky I am to be your mom.
